Application

The RCS-9698 remote terminal unit (RTU) provides high-performance functions to meet requirements of complex substation automation system (SAS). It is an integral part of the RCS-9700 SAS, and it is a flexible and reliable solution for establishing communication links between bay, substation and network control center levels. Single mode or redundant mode of the RTU can be chosen according to the engineering requirements.

The RCS-9698 is based on robust industrial hardware rather than PC technology. Standardized protocols, such as IEC60870-5-101/IEC60870-5-104, for the linking of systems with other suppliers to ensure the openness of the system. RCS-9698 can communicate with bay level via new IEC 61850 protocol.

Single mode or redundant mode of the RTU can be chosen according to the engineering requirements.

Functions

l         Acquisition of information from various digital relays and automation equipments

l         Acquisition of information from various measuring, control equipments and intelligent electricity meter

l         Acquisition of information from substation intelligent auxiliary equipments such as DC power supply, etc.

l         Realization and management of communication with concentrator station

l         Various communication protocols are supported, e.g.DNP3.0, IEC870-5-101, IEC870-5-104, etc.

l         Automatic clock synchronization and unified system timing can be realized via GPS

l         Inspection and monitoring of communication status of various equipment and equipments

l         Editing and synthesis of forwarded information

l         Online maintenance and monitoring via network

l         Dual channel monitoring and automatic switchover

l         Self-diagnosis.
