On Dec 17th, 2007, NR signed the agreement with State Power Grid Corporation of China to supply the PCS-9500 series HVDC control and protection system to Sichuan—Shanghai ±800kV HVDC Project.
With self-reliance innovative methods, NR has successfully developed the PCS-9500 series with proprietary intellectual property rights, which includes new principles and technologies aimed at engineering needs. Most of technologies are at the international leading level.
The Sichuan-Shanghai ±800KV HVDC project is an important electricity transmission project of the 38 million KW Jinsha River hydropower station. Its voltage level, transmission capacity and distance are among the world’s best. The straight-line distance from Jinsha River hydropower station to Shanghai is more than 1,700 kilometers.
